Winners from First-Ever Pitch, Hit & Run Event Held Sunday at Bridgeport Recreation Complex Announced

The first-ever Pitch Hit & Run competition held locally and hosted by Bridgeport Little League and the Patriot League was a success Sunday. A sold crowd showed up to participate in the first time event that took place at the Bridgeport Recreation Complex.
 
The following individuals were the winners in the local competition.
 
In the 7/8-year-old division: Pitch – Luke Rohrig; Hit – Dayne Murphy; Run – Luke Rohrig; Overall winner – Luke Rohrig.
 
In the 9/10-year-old division: Pitch – Christopher Mazzei; Hit – Samuel Romano; Run – Sam Goodwin; Overall – Samuel Romano.
 
In the 11/12-year-old division: Pitch – Dominick Peasak and Zachary Rohrig; Hit – Dominick Peasak; Run – Zachary Rohrig; Overall – Dominick Peasak.
 
In the 13-14-year-old division: Pitch – Bladen Roush; Hit – Bladen Roush; Run – Bladen Roush; Overall – Bladen Roush.
 
According to Bobby Marra, who helped organize the event, the winners advance to the sectional competition in Petersburg and the winners there will be considered state winners. The state winners advance to PNC Park in Pittsburgh at a yet to be determined date and from there qualifiers go the national finals at the Major League Baseball All Star game.
